Like an additional chapter in the whole sad saga of Jussie Smollett, The Blast reports that disgraced actor and former star of the popular TV series Empire recently sold his home in Studio City for about $1.655 million – and a loss of $30,000 against what he paid for the house in 2017.
The sale happened in secret, and the home was never publicly listed for sale, but was reportedly finalized back in July. But we do know that as of when Smollett purchased it a little over two years ago, it had three bedrooms and four bathrooms spread across 7,573 square feet. It's tucked away behind gates and an extended drive, and its official listing back then touted its "wonderful views and lush green rear yard" as well as suite baths in all three bedrooms. The listing went on:
"The perfect balance of warmth, timeless finishing touches, and clean lines sets this home apart from all the others. From digital camera surveillance, two car garage, custom Dolby 5.1 surround sound, Pro Cooks Kitchen, Exotic Wood Decking, to Nest operated Heating and Cooling systems, not to mention an enormous lower master retreat fully equipped with two walk-in closets, large master bath, and separate office and/or nursery with a wall of glass doors leading you out to the Entertainers Deck."
Smollett is reportedly keeping a low profile over the last several months, away from public scrutiny and the continued legal complications following his well-known public scandal. And the fast sale of his house at a significant loss could indicate his desire to get out of Los Angeles as quickly as possible – now, he's said to be living in New York and attempting to rebuild his show business career.
As for the house, you can check it out in the video below by Tiffany Chi, with the disclaimer that it's a couple years old and might not reflect any renovations it underwent in that time. Take a look:
