Born in September 1963 in Jewish family, Howard co-founded Brevan Howard Asset Management LLP, a hedge fund management company. A graduate of Imperial College London, he began his career at Solomon Brother, focusing on the ECU Eurobond market. Together with his four fellows, they launched the hedge fund company in 2002.

Currently, the company is based in Geneva and has profit of $39 billion.
