What Is Jeremy Jackson's Net Worth?

Jeremy Jackson is an American actor, singer, and producer who has a net worth of $300 thousand. Jeremy Jackson is most famous for playing Hobie Buchannon on the long-running television series "Baywatch" (1991–1999). Jeremy has also appeared in the films "Shout" (1991), "Expose" (2005), "Blood Effects" (2011), "Dreams" (2013), and "Altered Reality" (2016), the TV movies "The Bulkin Trail" (1992), "Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding" (2003), and "Ring of Darkness" (2004), and the television series "Santa Barbara" (1990), "Thunder Alley" (1994), and "Zig and Zag's Dirty Deeds" (1996).

Jackson served as a producer on "Expose" and "Dreams" as well as a 2014 episode of "LA Live the Show." He has also appeared on the reality television series "Child Star Confidential" (2006), " Confessions of a Teen Idol" (2009), "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew" (2011), and "Celebrity Big Brother" (2015). As a singer, Jackson has released the albums "Number One" (1994) and "Always" (1995) and the singles "I Need You" (1994), "Looking for My Number 1" (1994), "You Can Run" (1995), "French Kiss" (1995), "I'm Gonna Miss You" (1995), and "You Really Got It Going On" (1997).

Baywatch Salary & Earnings

In the 2024 docuseries, "After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun," Nicole Eggert revealed that the standard pay for every cast member throughout the series run was $3,500 per episode. There were typically 22 episodes per season. That would mean the cast members were paid around $77,000 per season. And while those numbers are worth roughly twice as much today after adjusting for inflation, it was still a relative pittance compared to how popular and profitable the show was. Ironically, with overtime pay and other benefits actual California lifeguards probably earned more every year in salary. Today some senior California lifeguards actually earn over $500,000 per year ($150,000 in base salary + $250,000 in overtime + $110,000 in other benefits and perks).

In a 2006 episode of "Child Star Confidential" on the E! network, Jeremy revealed:

"I probably made over $2 to $3 million from Baywatch. I had the means to destroy myself: I had a lot of money, and I had a lot of people around me that weren't really my friends but I thought they were, and I totally got sucked into a downward spiral of a lifestyle."

That number is presumably pre-tax, and making $2-3 million in the mid 1990s is the same as making $4-6 million today.

Early Life

Jeremy Jackson was born Jeremy Dunn Jackson on October 16, 1980, in Newport Beach, California. In a 2006 episode of the E! series "Child Star Confidential," Jeremy said of his youth, "All my life I was raised by a single mom. I never got to know my dad. He was a drug addict, and that's why my mom pretty much kidnapped us out of a bad situation." Jackson was cast in his first commercial, an ad for Mattel, at the age of 6.

Career

In 1990, Jeremy played Young Derek Griffin on the NBC soap opera "Santa Barbara," and he made his film debut in 1991's "Shout." From 1991 to 1999, he starred as Hobie Buchannon, the son of David Hasselhoff's Mitch Buchannon, on the syndicated series "Baywatch." Jackson was just 10 years old when he landed the role, and he appeared in more than 150 episodes of the series. During his time on "Baywatch," he struggled with drug addiction, and he eventually quit the show. On "Child Star Confidential," he stated, "The real deal was that I got a big head and I thought that I was better than Baywatch, or that I was going to go off and do my own stuff. I walked off one day with my middle finger up in the air, saying, 'Screw you, I'm not coming back to this set.' And I pulled myself off the show." Jeremy reprised the role of Hobie Buchannon in the 2003 TV movie "Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding." While starring on "Baywatch," he also appeared in the TV movie "The Bulkin Trail" (1992), guest-starred on "Thunder Alley" (1994) and "Zig and Zag's Dirty Deeds" (1996), and competed on the "Nickelodeon All-Star Challenge" (1994). In 1993, Jackson opened for Hasselhoff on his European tour, and after signing with Edel Records, he released the albums "Number One" (1994) and "Always" (1995).

In 2001, Jeremy was featured in "The E! True Hollywood Story: Baywatch," then he appeared in the TV movie "Ring of Darkness" (2004) and the film "Expose" (2005) and lent his voice to the 2006 video game "Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops." In 2006, he appeared on the E! series "Child Star Confidential" as well as "The Tyra Banks Show" and "The View," and in 2007, he was featured in the special "25 Most Memorable Swimsuit Moments." In 2009, Jackson appeared on the VH1 reality series "Confessions of a Teen Idol" alongside former "Baywatch" co-star David Chokachi and actors Christopher Atkins, Billy Hufsey, Jamie Walters, and Adrian Zmed and MTV personality Eric Nies. On the eight-episode series, Jeremy said that he beat out future Oscar winner Leonardo DiCaprio for the role of Hobie Buchannon, and David Hasselhoff later verified that it was true. In 2011, Jackson appeared in season five of VH1's "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew" to address his steroid use. He appeared in the films "Blood Effects" (2011), "Dreams" (2013), and "Altered Reality" (2016) and guest-starred on "The Melt" (2012) and "DTLA" (2012). In 2015, Jeremy was a cast member on "Celebrity Big Brother UK" until he was kicked off the show for opening the dressing gown of castmate Chloe Goodman against her will. He was also cautioned by the Hertfordshire Police because of the incident.

Personal Life

Jeremy began abusing drugs as a teenager, and on "Child Star Confidential," he revealed, "I have tried GHB, weed, pills, ecstasy. Crystal meth was a thing that really took me to my knees. I had to learn to cook it on my own so I could support my habit. I learned from some pretty gnarly gangsters — some gnarly, gnarly people. I did it not to sell it or make money, but just for my own personal use." He was arrested at the age of 19 while leaving a home with "two duffel bags full of everything you need to cook crystal meth," and he served 90 days in jail and went to rehab. Jackson later began using steroids and human growth hormone injections when he decided to get in shape and attempt a return to acting.

In 2015, he reportedly stabbed a man in Westlake, California, and was charged with assault with a deadly weapon. Jeremy claimed that he was acting in self-defense, and the charges were dropped. Later that year he was arrested again after a woman said that he "stabbed her in the back, arm and leg after they got into an argument about her boyfriend's car." Jackson went to rehab after being released on bond. He accepted a no-contest plea deal, agreeing to a jail sentence of 270 days as well as five years' probation. Jeremy married former model Loni Willison on December 12, 2012. Jackson and Willison divorced in 2014, and Loni, who also struggled with drug addiction, began living on the streets of Los Angeles.

Jackson earned three Young Artist Award nominations for "Baywatch": Best Young Actor Co-starring in a Television Series (1992), Best Young Actor Starring in a Television Series (1993), and Best Youth Actor Leading Role in a Television Series (1994).
